Position: EU Operations Controller
Location: Birmingham (B24 9HY)
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift pattern: Monday-Friday (40hrs)
Salary: £28,500 - £32,000
Criminal Check required: Yes (Basic)
HYBRID ROLE - 3 days in the office / 2 days at home

We make promises to our customers, and we'll make promises to you too. The key responsibilities in this role include;
- Liaising with carriers to ensure pre-arranged transport from the contingency plan, sourcing other carriers where required to smooth out the collection plan as much as possible
- Maintain relationships to implement and establish high, reliable on time collection, on time delivery performance and to respond to inquiries / requests of a moderate difficulty level from Suppliers, Carriers and others (internal & external)
- Liaise with Billing/Payable Team to ensure correct cost recovery against the responsible party and any subsequent invoicing requirements
- Support supervisor and DHL management team to achieve continuous improvement, development and implementation of standardised “best in class “processes.
- Identification and support the implementation of savings, cost reductions & efficiency opportunities within the transport network
- Escalation of issues including transit delays, to appropriate contacts, including supervisor, management, customer & third party service providers
- Ensure adherence to internal and external costs agreements and procedures, to avoid and report financial loss and or financial discrepancies
- Ensures that all appropriate transportation and customs documentation is created and processed timely and accurately
- Complies with corporate, local and or international regulatory requirements
- Coordinates transportation requirements with appropriate internal and external carriers & vendors

- Good degree of computer literacy, with excel, access, word and PowerPoint experience
- Ability to demonstrate analytical and logical thinking
- Good analytical and numerical skills
- Experience of transport management systems
- Excellent communicator (verbal & written)
- Able to demonstrate previous examples of solution innovative
- Demonstrable experience of a high standard of commercial awareness , understanding of key costs and drivers within the supply chain
- Problem solving skills
