Ethical Trade Assistant
Location: GLH
Contract: Permanent, Full time
Reports to: Ethical Trade Partner
About the job…
Work with the Ethical Trade team to deliver our Fashion with Integrity strategy. Assist the Ethical Trade Partner in managing the ASOS Design Ethical Trade Programme, contributing to ethical audit management, data management, reporting and administration.
What you’ll be doing…
- New factories registration and communicating with suppliers on ASOS’s requirements
- Organising, reviewing and risk rating ethical audits in line with the ASOS Code of Conduct
- Using the ethical trade database to input audit data, log information, follow up on actions and generate reports
- Maintain the internal data systems (Lighthouse Editrack)
- Work closely with on-ground team and suppliers on remediation
- Liaising with other departments, suppliers and third parties to follow up on supply base information, corrective action plans and operational targets
- Support on engagement with external stakeholders and NGOs e.g., Ethical Trade Initiative (ETI), Fashion Revolution and International Accord
- Building strong relationships with the broader Responsible Sourcing team, suppliers, and third-party partners to support delivery of the audit programme.
- Creating reports, presentations and updates for the head office and regional teams
- Support on external reporting needs where needed for ASOS Plc website, annual Report, and other reporting as required
- Responding to internal and external requests for information
- Building knowledge on ethical trade and human rights issues
- Supporting Ethical Trade Partners on strategic projects and workstreams
- Contribute ideas and feedback to continually develop the programme
- Other administrative requests as required
We’d love to meet someone with…
- Interest in labour rights, human rights/ ethical trade
- Has held previous an ethical trade role/ work experience, ideally within a fashion retailer or sustainability consultancy or NGO.
- Understanding of ETI Base Code
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Research skills and ability to collate data and information for accurate reporting
- Thorough and reliable with great attention to detail
- Able to use Microsoft office packages effectively, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Works collaboratively and effectively with others
- Can travel for work
- Copes well with new situations
