Vanguard Healthcare Solutions is a fast-growing company. We are a UK-based, privately owned, international provider of infrastructure and clinical services supporting healthcare clients worldwide. Vanguard Healthcare Solutions was established in 1999.
Our purpose-designed and built mobile and modular facilities provide our clients with new or replacement healthcare spaces including operating theatres, endoscopy suites and sterilisation and diagnostic departments. As part of our solution to our clients we also support them with clinical teams and equipment for our facilities.
We are looking for a Estimating Manager to join our Supply Chain Team.
The Estimating Manager is responsible for the production of competitive cost estimates predominantly across (but not limited to) our modular solutions business. Working closely with the wider Commercial and Finance teams encompassing business development, bid management, design management, sales lead and other stakeholders within the business to formulate the most economical and robust response to opportunities.
The role is full-time, although we will consider part-time for the right candidate and will be hybrid or home-based with a requirement to attend our head office in Gloucester as required. Travel to various sites across the UK and the Netherlands is also a requirement, so flexibility and the ability to periodically spend time away from home is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will have the following core responsibilities:
- Ensure the Net cost of all bids is established prior to board approval and client submission.
- Ensure all bid submissions are backed up with demonstrable and achievable net cost details.
- Responsible for the preparation and presentation of analytical cost estimates that reflect the programme, methodology and risk profile developed by the bid team.
- Work with the wider Commercial team to develop risk and opportunity strategies for all bidding activity, including building relationships with the supply chain.
- Assist the Commercial team to manage a growing workload of new enquiries.
- Support the Commercial team with budget proposals for speculative enquiries.
- At scheme launch, ensure the delivery team are fully briefed on the commercial strategy taken at bid stage.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that they have held a similar role with a design and build modular or main contracting background, having strong experience in this role and with project values between £2m – £15m.
- Comfortable with a high degree of interaction with clients as well as internal stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines and work without supervision.
- Recognised building qualification ONC, HNC or degree would be an advantage.
- Have a good working knowledge of modular and general construction techniques and processes, with the ability to generate detailed bills for work tasks from groundworks, superstructure, M&E and fit-out packages.
- Able to read and understand construction drawings, schedules, room data sheets, NBS documents.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT is advantageous.
- Knowledge of materials/construction methods
