Overview of role and responsibilities
We are looking for a data specialist to support the investment team, with a specific focus on collecting, handling and analysing sustainability data. We see a continuously increasing need for data to support our analysis across equities, funds and fixed income securities. In addition, we view this role as supporting the broader data analysis needs for the equity, fixed income and fund teams. Sustainability analysis is an integral part of all investment analysis we do. We use a number of tools to support the analysis of our companies and funds, some of it proprietary, some of it through third-party data providers. The increasing complexity of sustainability analysis and ongoing regulatory requirements means that we are looking for an additional member to the team who can support all these efforts.
You are someone who likes to dive into the deep end of data, handle it with dexterity and try to make sense of the output. Proficiency in Excel is a must, programming skills are an asset.
Main Responsibilities
  • Collect data across a wide range of sustainability metrics for direct equities and funds. We combine proprietary analysis with MSCI data
  • Understanding and interpreting sustainability data
  • Sustainability portfolio analytics of the funds we own and our own portfolios
  • Support the equity analysts with key sustainability data that gives them additional insights
  • Prepare content for engagement with companies
  • Automate tasks through programming
  • Create presentation material for clients and client advisors
  • Prepare data for regulatory purposes
  • Support the preparation of our UN PRI filing, our annual sustainability report and our annual UK Stewardship Code report.
Other responsibilities
Support the various analyst teams with data related queries
Experience, Skills and Competencies
  • Analytical skills that focus on data interpretation rather than data output alone
  • University degree that includes math skills
  • Work experience is not a prerequisite, but any experience handling data is a plus
  • Affinity for financial markets, investments or sustainability topics is a plus
  • Ability to program in Python is an asset
