Job Title: Escape Room Manager
Reports to: Director, The Engine Hub CIC
Location: 52 Parsonage St, Dursley
Hours: 16 hours per week
Salary: £29,000 pro rata
Contract: 12 months (3 month probationary)
Job Purpose:
To manage operations and, with others, develop the business of The Escape Room, Dursley to reach its goal of being a sustainable asset to the community that supports the wider aims of The Engine.
Key tasks for The Escape Room Manager:
- Management of three rooms which includes our mobile room ‘on tour’.
- Coordination and management of staff
- Management of game bookings, customer follow up, allocation of game master resources, customer feedback and online review monitoring.
- Delivery of a professional customer experience ensuring the delivery of games to a high standard, maintenance of the escape rooms overall cleanliness and tidiness of the venue.
- Maintaining positive relations with all customers, partners, stakeholders and the wider community to advance the aims of The Engine
- Expanding the market and seeking development opportunities through connecting with clients,
- Supporting and working within the ethos of what The Engine aims to achieve.
Key tasks of the Escape Room Manager:
- Administration
- Management of the operations of The Escape Room business
- Allocation of staff resources
- Data capture of all contacts made within the business to support our overall objectives, map our impact and support our future work.
- Confirming to team on a regular basis allocation of game provision, sales and future customer demand in order to plan, prepare and deliver an effective, efficient and professional service.
- Support the delivery of other income streams for example corporate team development use of the escape rooms.
2. Marketing
- Liaising with colleagues ensuring ideas and material relevant to The Escape Room and the wider work of The Engine are shared in a timely way for all publicity including social media, website, newspaper, events, radio etc.
- Be available to attend events and promotional campaigns that would support our work
3. Practical
- Being a point of contact for Escape Room queries
- Management of game masters
- Maintaining security for the premises and safety of our clients
- Regular risk assessment
- Ensure a professional service is always maintained (cleaning, repair etc)
- Delivery of up to 7 games a month as required
4. General
- Be willing to contribute to the wider goals of the business
- To undertake other duties as and when required within the work remit of The Engine and its subsequent income streams
Desirable skills and experience:
- Experience of managing an entertainment venue, working in the service industry and / or understand customer service
- Self-starter, able to use initiative, take pride in their work and seek further personal development
- Personable, open, good communicator who can manage a small team and be able to identify what is required, when, where and how.
- Understanding of best practice in the working environment with an ability to implement required actions
- Embrace problems and be practical in approach to finding a solution.
- Ability to be flexible in approach to working hours, work late afternoon, evenings and weekends when on duty.
- Ability to rise to a challenge, work as a team and recognise when to ask for help.

Salary: Up to £29,000.00 per year
