Job Description
-The purpose of Marketing Information Management (IM) is to enable the delivery of business processes, compliance, controls and decision support through the deployment, support and maintenance of Marketing wide front, middle and back office technology applications and infrastructure.

The Manager – Development (Market Risk) a key member of the Marketing IM CORE development team, working across several initiatives to set strategic direction and deliver high quality application and integration components in support of Marketing’s digital strategy. As a development leader with Market Risk experience, the role holder will be expected to develop and maintain components for our Market Risk departments using our CORE application framework built using Azure native components.

KEY TASKS

Performance & Delivery

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of system components that focus on the Market Risk, utilising IM’s inhouse CORE framework approach, and in accordance with agreed coding standards, release procedures, architecture and quality standards.
  • Enhance and develop the Marketing IM Risk Strategy.
  • Accountable for the detailed level architecture within the CORE framework.
  • Develop and implement system components and tools inside CORE system.
  • Ensure the knowledge underpinning any new enhancement is documented, managed and maintained.
  • Work with the support team to identify, plan and execute service improvements to those systems that are developed.
  • Assist support team with any technical queries.
  • Understand the business processes and flows to enable the development of solutions.
  • Work with project and support teams to manage service introduction and deployment.
  • Managing team members tasks, workflow and mentoring to build a high performing development team.

People & Teams

  • Responsible for leading a team of developers to develop the Market Risk system to meet the needs of business users. This will include line management of permanent team members, and performance management for contractors and consultants.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to develop the team and their capability
  • Support the team to operate in accordance with Anglo American and Marketing IM operational processes, standards, frameworks and quality controls as required.
  • Support the professional development of permanent team members to enable individual growth and progression and to continuously improve internal developer capabilities.

Qualifications
-Role-specific knowledge:

  • Essential: Commodities trading experience.
  • Essential: Market & Credit Risk experience in a commodities or financial services firm

Development and Technology:

  • Essential: 5+ years leading a team undertaking Commodities Market Risk development, ideally Metals, but other Commodities also possibility
  • Essential: C#
  • Strongly preferred: Azure Native Components (Azure SQL, App Services, Databricks)
  • Preferred: Angular experience

Relational database experience (SQL) and experience working In Agile development teams would be an advantage.
