Energy Recovery Facilities are vital in supporting the UK’s ambition to reduce waste in an efficient and effective manner, helping to reduce the impact of waste on climate change. After reducing, reusing and recycling as much as possible, our Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs) provide the infrastructure to efficiently recover energy from residual waste, meaning landfill becomes the last resort.
We have an opportunity in Ardley for a ERF Crane Operator (Day Crane Driver) to join our team working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday on an early / late shift pattern.
The salary for this role will be £25,177.00 per year, plus shift allowance of £2,131.80 and participation in a yearly bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.
About the role
As the site Waste Grab Crane Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the overhead gantry cranes, controlling the two waste grabs. Your duties will include: the mixing, staking, and loading of waste materials and feeding the waste into the boiler feed chutes.
Full training will be provided to operate the waste cranes and grabs previous experience is not required, but is desirable.
Taking responsibility for your personal safety and that of others, you will ensure that all activities are performed within the correct methods established through company Health and safety guidance, in line with risk assessments and safe operating procedures.
What are we looking for?
- Have a working knowledge of energy to waste process.
- Have good hand eye coordination.
