We are recruiting for dedicated Equine Welfare Assistants

Working under the supervision of the Team Leader and Deputy, our Equine Welfare Assistants work in small teams, across 7 of our specialist yards, learning relevant skills as they progress, to not only ensure every equines have access to clean water, feed and suitable shelter, but also to meet the health and wellbeing needs of each equine by administering medication, exercising, handling and supporting the farrier, dentist and onsite vet.

The ideal candidate should have;

  • a minimum of a level 2 qualification in equine studies
  • at least 1 years previous experience of working with equines
  • good communication skills and works well as part of a team
  • sound knowledge of equine care and health needs
  • demonstrable handling skills with a good health and safety awareness
  • a good level of fitness due to the physically demanding nature of the role
  • flexibility to work every other weekend

Pay and Reward

The starting salary for an Equine Welfare Assistant is £20,325 per annum and comes with a structured training and development programme and a progressive salary of up to £28,417.
