About you
You will have completed an accredited Environmental Health degree or Masters programme and will be a Chartered member of the CIEH, or EHRB registered.
You will have excellent organisational, communication and mediation skills working with a diverse range of stakeholders focusing on delivering the aims of the role and working to organisational priorities.
You are an aspiring, dedicated and ambitious individual with an appetite for innovation through partnership working. You will need to utilise your negotiation and influencing skills alongside regulatory powers to their maximum effect to the benefit of the city and our reputation.
We are looking for individuals who are adept at working with staff and partners to make change happen.
About the role
The Environmental Health and Community Safety Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and running the Environmental Health and Community Safety Service.
Reporting directly to the Service Lead, you will be responsible for providing operational direction for and overview of the Private Sector Housing, Neighbourhood, Environmental Quality and Delivery and Development Teams.
In addition the role also has a corporate responsibilities through the line management of the Policy Officer who oversees safeguarding, equalities, diversity and inclusion and community safety.
The role is pivotal to the Council's Emergency Planning function and is part of a rota on call system to respond to major incidents. Other regular out of hours work is also forms a fundamental part of this role.
About the team
Our high performing Environmental Health and Community Safety Team have been at the fore front of our business transformation programme and we have re- designed the service to have a greater focus on pro-active and preventative work in line with our ambitions for the city.
We are now looking for ambitious and committed professionals to join our pro-active and progressive team.
