Children’s and young people’s outpatient’s department
A vacancy has arisen for an experienced health care assistant, to join the children and young people’s outpatient team at UCLH. Previous experience of working with Children and young people is essential.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 3 HCA who can demonstrate the trust values to join our team.
This position is full-time, 37.5 hours.
This department sees patients from birth until their 19th birthday, for a range of different specialties.
Previous experience working within a health care environment or related setting and computer skills are essential.
The post-holder will form part of a specialized and enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team.
As a nursing assistant you will play a key role in ensuring that clinics run smoothly and the needs of children/ young people and their parents/ careers are met. You will be expected to assist senior nurses working full time in the department and the multidisciplinary team.
You will need to be educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, have excellent communication skills and demonstrate a commitment to delivering excellent patient care.
Phlebotomy experience essential as this forms a main part of the role.
The successful candidate must be willing to undertake further study, additional training and development is provided.
You will be required to complete the National Care Certificate in the first 3 months of employment.
