Job description

About the role

We are recruiting experienced Entertainment Technical Managers to travel the world on board Marella Cruises.

As the Entertainment Technical Manager, you will be responsible for managing the onboard AV technical team and overseeing the delivery of the entertainment product in all venues across the ship. You will work with the latest entertainment technology and share your experience and knowledge with your team members in order to provide the highest standards across the vessel. You must have strong leadership skills and identify opportunities to support, train and develop your team members to deliver to the highest standards.

Working closely with the senior management and all departments you will help ted to deliver high-quality West End-style production shows in the ‘Broadway Show Lounge’, exciting events on the open decks as well as nightly game shows in the ‘Squid & Anchor’ lounge. You must be highly organised and efficiently manage the scheduling for the day-to-day entertainment operation across the ship.

Character and experience

For this role, you will not only need to demonstrate your ability to manage and lead a team but also be a strong all-round AV technician with a proven background in both stage lighting and sound operation.

QLab and Hippotizer both play an important role in the delivery of all AV content so we ask for all applicants to be familiar with this software before and have knowledge of its operation and programming.

Alongside that, knowledge of LED screens, projection and stage management is desirable but not essential.

Contract information

The contract period for this role is up to 9 months with competitive pay, all meals and single occupancy cabin.

All applicants must hold valid STCW certification (or be willing to obtain these) as well as an ENG1 or equivalent seafarer medical certificate.

So, if you are an experienced Entertainment Technical Manager looking for your next career move then we’d love to hear from you.
