Job description
The Role
With your widespread IT architecture knowledge and skills, and previous hands-on experience, you will engage with a wide variety of stakeholders, vendors, and partners, in addition to key programmes and projects to provide clarity, oversight and direction, and maintain alignment with the target architecture.
Operating at the forefront of technology and services delivery you will proactively identify any relevant emergent technologies, work with the business to understand evolving needs, and think about how we can continually improve our services. Based on these findings you will assist in providing an architecture to encompass these and ensure that we remain a trusted partner for members when they are confronted with life-changing events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with other architects to understand and deliver the agreed strategic outcomes for the program’s architecture function
- Ensure solution architecture integrity throughout the change lifecycle on projects and programmes
- Ensure that all solutions are fit for purpose, implementable, complete and align with maturing strategies and standards
- Support the client’s digital transformation agenda with technical and business savvy consultancy
- Work closely with client’s suppliers / partners to support the development of solutions and help with information and updates on the ongoing development of the program roadmap
Experience & Skills
- Strong demonstrable experience in developing strategic end-to-end architectures, deploying enterprise class capabilities, and translating business needs into deliverable solutions.
- Experience in designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-scale solutions with exposure to multiple software vendors and technology platforms
- Strong understanding of application architecture and systems integration concepts
- A strong understanding of application architecture best practices, existing and emerging technologies
- Knowledge of professional software development life-cycle practices
- Be capable of working cross-functionally to collaboratively build cohesive, deliverable, and manageable solutions; proactively identifying and resolving issues independently (a self-starter)
- Great communications skills (presentations, written, oral) which includes being able to translate complex technical topics into simpler concepts to cater for the target audience at all levels of the organisation
Desirable Experience & Skills
- A broad understanding of the member needs landscape that retail financial organisations must satisfy
- Experience of delivering solutions to the Cloud (AWS and/or Azure)
- A good working knowledge of/interest in new technologies
