Title: AWS Solutions Architect
Location: HYBRID (Alexandria, VA) but will entertain 100% Remote for a Rockstar
Type: Contract-W2
Key Responsibilities:
Serves as key technical expert who provides technical expertise in designing, architecting, deploying, and maintaining cloud solutions.
Provides strategic consulting to internal and external clients of cloud's current capabilities and provides future direction on all cloud products and services.
Analyze existing application composition and provide migration recommendations following the 6-R's.
Propose and develop proofs of concept to prove migration approaches.
Work with the agency client and your team to analyze a system comprising several hundred servers and develop a migration plan for components from Rehosting to Rewriting.
You will present solutions and results to agency leadership looking to prove this migration will be successful.
You will be part of a highly skilled tiger team brought in to move this agency’s most mission critical infrastructure to the cloud.
You will help modernize an application and environment relied upon thousands of agency employees and integrated with dozens of agency applications.
You will work with the existing application teams to help them reimagine how their application will work in the cloud.
Required Qualifications:
Required Experience:
10+ years AWS infrastructure design and deployment. 5+ years migrating complex applications from on-premises to AWS.
Required Technical Skills:
Experience leading and implementing Cloudformation or Terraform based infrastructures, CI/CD pipeline development. Proven ability to analyze legacy systems and develop migration plans and infrastructure.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate proposed solutions to clients, familiarity working within the federal government IT space. Ability to navigate both on-premises and cloud environments with ease
Preferred Skills:
AWS Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional Certification.
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $52.00 - $100.00 per hour
