About the opportunity

Are you passionate about customer care and delivering Healthcare services? We are looking for team members who are passionate about Healthcare that are keen to learn a new skill and play a key role in delivering our new earwax removal service to the local community. .

You will go through specialist training to understand how to complete the ear wax removal process, including how to talk to customers about the process and using a camera to look inside the ear(s) before proceeding to remove the ear wax. You will also complete our healthcare training programme to enable you to advise on the healthcare counter customers with their healthcare needs.

Your role will be to greet customers, verify their details, complete an ear health questionnaire with the customer, look inside the ear(s) using a camera, and then to use specialist microsuction equipment to gently remove ear wax from the customer’s ear(s) to improve their hearing.

Your main duties will include:

  • Greeting customers and verifying their details
  • Clerical duties such as management of appointment booking process for the earwax removal service
  • Explaining the earwax removal procedure to customers
  • Removing earwax in line with current guidelines
  • Recording clear and accurate medical notes
  • Ordering and maintaining adequate stock of requisite materials needed to deliver service
  • Working with wider healthcare professionals (e.g. audiologists and GPs) to escalate queries and signposting into other healthcare services
  • You will go on the Healthcare Advisor Programme

What you’ll need to have
  • Ideally five GCSEs or equivalent (including Science).
  • Previous experience in any Healthcare environment
  • Motivated to complete theoretical training
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to communicate with customers and other healthcare professionals
  • Confident, Empathetic, approachable and able to interact sensitively
  • Digitally savvy and comfortable using a smartphone
  • A passion for customer care and working in Healthcare
  • Prepared to learn and be comfortable in completing a Healthcare training programme at NVQ2 or equivalent
