Job description
We are seeking an experienced English Teacher for a special school in Guildford, catering for students aged between 10 and 16 years old with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and be able to create engaging lessons to enhance the students' learning experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH difficulties
- Develop and implement individual learning plans for each student
- Assess and monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents
- Work closely with other teachers and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Support the school's pastoral care system to ensure the students receive the necessary support
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English
- Proven experience teaching students with SEMH difficulties
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for working with students with SEMH difficulties and a commitment to their development
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- An enhanced DBS check
This is a part-time or full-time position.
