EAL Teacher (peripatetic) 0.8 fte
Do you have a passion for language acquisition and an understanding of the needs of EAL pupils in primary and secondary classrooms, and recent experience of working in UK secondary schools?
The English as an Additional Language Service is looking for a 0.8 fte teacher to join its dynamic team of EAL teachers and Bilingual Support Officers who support children in East Sussex schools.
The role involves assessing, monitoring and teaching pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL) in school settings. You will support schools in addressing the educational needs of EAL pupils to raise achievement and promote inclusive practices.
We are looking for candidates who are able to:
- Design & deliver personalised learning programmes for EAL learners at
all phases and ability levels
- Form good professional working relationships with a wide range of
people
- Share good practice and advise and support colleagues
- Have an empathy for the issues affecting EAL pupils and their families
- Use ICT effectively for communication and teaching
- Demonstrate good planning, record keeping and assessment skills
- Deliver effective training to schools and other professionals
If you have QTS or QTLS and recent relevant experience, we want to hear from you. Please note a specific EAL qualification is not necessary for this post.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
