JOB OVERVIEW
MartinFederal has an opening for an Engineer Technician I to join our team of talented and diverse individuals. This role will directly support the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, & Explosives (ATF) within the Fire Research Lab performing exciting tasks such as crime scene mock-ups.
This position will provide semi-professional technical support for engineers working in such areas as research, design, development, testing, and/or manufacturing process improvement. Work will pertain to electrical, electronic, or mechanical components or equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs simple routine tasks under close supervision or from detailed procedures. Work is checked in progress or on completion.
Performs one or a combination of typical duties, such as:
Assemble or installing equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting.
Perform simple or routine tasks, tests such as tensile, or hardness tests; operating and adjusting simple test equipment; records test data.
Gather and maintain specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.; performing computations by substituting numbers in specified formulas; plotting data and draws simple curves and graphs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoJ security clearance
- At least 6 months of relevant technical experience
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills; the ability to set priorities; manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; and the ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as a member of a team.
- Required Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), experience is required to prepare documents, tables, briefings, and worksheets.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Laboratory setting.
- Be able to stand for long periods of time and operate several pieces of scientific equipment simultaneously.
- Be able to lift 50 pounds for a short period of time.
