About the role
The core of our business is to help our customers get rid of the complexity associated with the logistics of their remote employees’ experience. Firstbase's unique approach gives our customers the opportunity to create an incredible remote employee experience with the simplicity that our platform offers. That surfaced simplicity hides a complex system associated with the logistics involved behind the scenes.
This role is an amazing opportunity for an engineering leader that loves to shape teams and products. Leveraging the right tools and technologies to solve hard problems (and we have some!)
You’ll join an early-stage team, and shape what the future of remote work will look like for tens of thousands of employees globally today, and millions in the future. Longer term, Firstbase’s mission is to enable 1 Billion people access a higher quality of life. This role will play a key part in enabling that vision.
What You’ll Do:
Build and lead engineers that deliver the technical solutions supporting key initiatives at the core of our business.
Develop and help grow engineers to deliver high quality features and laying a foundation for building future leaders across key areas of our technology stack.
Proactively look for opportunities for the team to act on feedback, improve existing features, and help foster new technical solutions.
Lead a team to deliver high quality deliverables meanwhile engaging other parts of the organisation to get clarity in requirements to ensure the solutions have long-term success.
What We're Looking For:
You believe deeply in the future of work being remote and its ability to deliver a higher quality of life

You have a proven record of managing a team with sustainable velocity
You're used to managing ICs at various levels in their career
You have ideally deep experience building:
Web application systems that are external and internal customer facing
Integrations into our technology stack that enable b2b customer integrations
You're keen on learning a lot and sharing your expertise
You can talk about your past successes and contributions
You can talk about failures that helped you grow (we embrace failures, failure is where experience grows as a company and as a team)
You're an excellent communicator, both written and verbal
You thrive in a quickly evolving environment and operate with a high degree of autonomy
5 years of leading a high performing team, empowering employee growth and providing guidence.
Nice to Have:
Experience at an enterprise SaaS company
Experience working in a start-up or similar fast-paced environment
