About the role

We are actively looking for a skilled Engineering Manager who is looking to further develop their career for the long term within our business in a full-time permanent capacity.

As the successful Engineering Manager, you will oversee all engineering activities on the BEPPS2 project (Box Encapsulation Plant Product Store – Sellafield) and will report into the Design & Engineering Manager for BBK infrastructure as well as indirectly to the PPP framework management.

  • NB. this opportunity can be based out of either our Warrington, Westlake's or Wirral offices and requires individuals to hold full working rights for the UK, coupled with eligibility for security clearance due to the nature of our projects.

What you'll be doing


Key Accountabilities:

  • Leading multidiscipline engineering on BEPPS2 PPP project at Sellafield… This includes engineering management and technical assurance of vendors, external consultants and internally engineered solutions
  • Building strong relationships with the client to plan, communicate and coordinate the engineering work effectively
  • Responsible for all engineering sub functions and MEI disciplines
  • From a Design and Engineering perspective, support PPP bid submissions to deliver a true value proposition to the customer, aligned with the strategy, in pursuit of contractual KPIs and ECI phases
  • Represent BBK as the main engineering point of contact for the BEPPS2 project and liaise with the relevant centre of excellence and colleagues to organise attendance at appropriate client facing meetings and workshops.
  • Lead and present on BEPPS2 Engineering matters at Work Winning, Operations, and Customer meetings

Who we're looking for


Key Skillset Required:

  • Solid and proven experience in successfully leading multi-discipline engineering functions within a regulated industry
  • Hold a relevant professional qualification and membership, in the field of mechanical and/ or electrical engineering - ideally having attained chartered status
  • Skilled in the management of design development and reviews
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, coupled with an ability to form effective relationships, with a variety of partners
  • Highly adept at forming effective teams under tight time constraints incorporating a wide range of competencies and expertise from both within and outside BBK, and wider business
  • Ability to command the respect and attention from the customer by proving detailed knowledge and understanding of engineering issues, progress blockers and clear solutions to problems
  • The ability to communicate well and succinctly to direct reports, peers, and senior leadership
  • Detailed knowledge of codes of practice and other regulatory material
  • Ideally hold experience in a broad range of heavy industries such as petrochemical, power generation and nuclear
