What is the Engineering Graduate Scheme?
Our 15-month Renewables Engineering training programme gives graduates a chance to be part of our journey towards achieving net zero. You will experience different areas of the business across 5 assignments. These opportunities could include working with:
Our technical competency centres within our Central Technical Organisation- Project Engineering, supporting our Operational Portfolio
- Offshore Wind Construction Projects
- Assignments across EDF Group including Hynamics (EDF’s dedicated subsidiary for green hydrogen production) in France
On this programme you’ll learn from our experts, gain valuable experience and have the support of an assignment manager, mentor and buddy throughout the programme. You will then spend your final assignment working towards your substantive position.
Training, development and support for you:
We’re passionate about your development and we offer each graduate tailored training plan based on your discipline that will help develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours, both during the scheme and in your future careers.
Previous projects graduates have been involved in have contributed to the development and operational phases of our renewable assets, which directly enable our Britain’s ambitious net zero targets, and they have had the opportunity to work on our operational wind farms, understanding the kind of maintenance that is required to keep them functioning and analysing data to see how performance can be improved. Previous graduates have also had the opportunity to become part of the Young Professionals and Growth Networks, which is a great opportunity for professional development; organising events and supporting the business and connecting with people from across the business.

Where you’ll work:
Locations on scheme could include: Edinburgh, Newcastle, London, Ireland and our UK onshore and offshore sites.
To get the most from our training during the programme you’ll be moving around our sites to experience our diverse business. We’ll be on hand with practical and financial support when you relocate. We offer a great work/life balance to support people’s personal lives whilst giving them the opportunity to network and learn.
What you’ll need to apply:
2:2 Bachelor’s Degree or a 2:2 Postgraduate Degree (obtained or expected) in an Engineering subject, with specific focus on any of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, Reliability Engineering, Project Management or Renewable Energy Engineering- A genuine interest in the renewable energy sector
- Desire to learn and develop your skills during and after the scheme
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Keen to solve technical problems
- Operates with high quality standards with an eye for detail
- Works well to deadlines in a time critical environment
