We are looking to recruit Bus and Coach Engineering Technician Apprentices!
Carrying out a range of engineering work on buses and coaches. This is a great opportunity to learn on the job, earning a real wage! Working alongside our fantastic engineering team at our Queens Road depot, which operates over 180 vehicles - you will take your first step on the career ladder!
What will the apprentice be doing?
As an Apprentice, you will learn the basics of mechanical and electrical repairs; also specialising in body repair to ensure our fleet is safe, reliable and free from damage.
- Fitting and servicing parts
- Preparation of vehicles for MOT
- Repair of body and panel components
- Completing effective mechanical repairs
- Removing and replacing faulty/damaged parts
- Other related activities as operationally required
- Diagnosing faults using latest diagnostic equipment
- Assisting with repair/recovery of defective vehicles off-site
- Completing all relevant documentation to a high standard
- Safe operation of specialist tools and testing/lifting equipment
- Conducting 6-week inspections of vehicles to specified standards
- Completing accurate records and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Being part of a continuous improvement culture
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Bus and Coach Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Level 3.
This will be delivered through a mix of face-to-face learning, remote reviews, online assessments, self-study, practical skills training and one-to-one coaching facilitated at our training centre in Wythenshawe (off-the-job) - through block release sessions.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon satisfactory completion of the apprenticeship programme, a full-time permanent contract awaits. Future opportunities to further develop your industry skills and knowledge.

Qualifications
- GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4) Essential
- GCSE or equivalent Mathematics (Grade 4) Essential
