MWH Constructors, an industry leader in heavy civil construction of water and wastewater facilities, is currently seeking an Office Engineer to support our Construction Management Services operations in Northern California. Under the direct supervision of senior staff, this Office Engineer will perform entry-level and administrative project document control functions. This includes conducting submittal reviews, RFI processing and assisting with Progress Payment and change order processing to gain a good understanding of Construction Management Services and build a foundation of well-defined project engineering functions.

Essential Functions
- Ensures project documentation is timely processed and organized, in accordance with the client’s documentation processes and procedures.
- Attend construction meetings in support of the Construction Manager/Project Manager.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reporting for the Construction Manager.
- Monitor and control to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget.
- Evaluate contractor’s detailed cost proposals and develop preliminary cost estimate.
- Provide a daily review of project documentation for items such as daily inspection reports, photographs, test reports, change orders, etc.
- Ensure accurate field records, including but not limited to, daily inspection reports, test reports, RFIs, project submittals, and as-built drawings are maintained in a contemporaneous manner.
- Maintain project submittals and logs using the company’s project document control system.
- Prepare and disseminate all required documentation records such as status reports, punch lists, as-builts and change orders.
- Assist Construction Manager during project closeout.
- Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees but following the company health and safety guidelines and policies.
- Assist in resolving construction problem/issues and perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
Basic Qualifications
- Four-year degree in engineering, construction management, construction technology, science, or related field.
- 0-2 years’ field construction experience at the jobsite level. Knowledge of basic engineering and construction management functions.
- Knowledge of quality control programs and ability to determine acceptability and deniability of work-based specifications.
- An understanding of construction safety, quality control, and general contract management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, supervisory and planning skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience in inspection, construction, or operations.
- Prior experience with water/wastewater infrastructure construction
