Job Title: Data Centre Engineer
Location: Milton Keynes, (Hybrid working may be considered)
Hours: 37.5 hours a week
Job Type: Permanent, full time
The Role: Providing operational support for current and future enterprise systems focusing on the EMEA region. Working as part of a solution orientated European IT team with a Global company who are market leaders in Automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining compliance to Global IT security policies, procedures, best practices, and established standards
Participate in and optimising IT infrastructure implementations, forecasting, and maintenance
Support of the design, development, and management of network servers, virtualization, storage, and monitoring systems
Deployment of servers and virtual environments, including but not limited to VMWare and various Windows server versions
Troubleshoot data centre systems including any reported data centre issues and recommend improvements required to enhance performance
Provide tactical and strategic input for overall data centre planning and related projects to include utilisation of technology for cost savings or enhanced productivity for the organisation
Document procedures and create user guides
Communicate with internal customers at all levels
What you will bring - Skills, Experience and Education Requirements:
Higher education in computer science with focus on IT operations or infrastructure
Work experience VMware vSphere 7 (including multiple sites / clusters, host profiles, customizations), vMotion, VMware ESXi, vCenter, vROPS, IDPA, NSX, NSX-T
Administration of VMware virtual environment using vSphere spanning multiple data centres and networks
Experience with Dell VxRail, Data Domain, Avamar, EMC and IDPA storage platforms
Basic Networking Knowledge (VLANs, firewalls, load balancers, NAT, DNS, LANs/WANs)
Experience with common network services, SNMP, Syslog, DNS, NTP, DHCP, AD, etc.
Practical experience deploying, managing, migrating, and upgrading Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server, Active Directory, GPOs, M365 Hybrid, and security policies
Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Windows Server
Experience modifying and developing scripting or programming languages
Certification in ITIL is a plus
Ability to travel abroad
