Who are we seeking?
As the Composite Engineer, you will assume full responsibility for your projects from initial concept to prototype to production. As a contract manufacturer, our clients continually challenge us to explore new materials and processes, making this position ideal for someone who is self-directed and eager to grow with a company. This presents an exceptional opportunity for an experienced composite engineer to enjoy significant autonomy and a diverse range of projects.
What you will be doing!
- Collaborating with clients to gather specifications and formulate estimates
- Engaging in collaborative design with both clients and manufacturing staff within Composite Innovations
- Leading multidisciplinary project planning and design review meetings
- Generating CAD models and drawings required for part and tooling development
- Creating production support documentation, such as ply kits and lamination instructions
- Specifying necessary materials and generating bills of materials (BOM)
- Defining and maintaining project timelines
- Monitoring project costs
- Providing manufacturing support
What you will bring to the Team
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering Field, a PhD is not excessive (Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or other)
- 3-8 years of experience in composite vacuum infusion or resin transfer molding
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar solid & surface modeling software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to comprehend and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Ability to cultivate relationships with internal and external customers
- Self-motivated with excellent personal workload management
- Successful management of multiple projects, including scheduling and scoping
- Experience in the design of high-volume metallic resin transfer molding, compression molding, or injection molding tooling
- Experience in the design of tooling and fixtures for dry fiber preforming
- Experience in the design of shop aides, such as material handling carts, part racks, and work holding devices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
