Interim Corporate Affairs Manager–Business Support Reference no: Stockport 0007 50E4 / 1 Pay rate: up to £ 41.40 per hour PAYE, depending on experience TBC Civic Complex / Hybrid Working (minimum 4 days a week in the office) The post-holder will provide exceptional, executive level day to day support to the Chief Executive and Corporate Leadership Team (CLT). Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional, executive level day to day support to the Chief Executive and Corporate Leadership Team (CLT)
- Manage the Corporate Leadership Teams PAs, driving improvement, creating a positive culture and ensuring excellence in all processes to ensure organisational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Work directly with the Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive & Corporate Leadership Team
- Work with colleagues to shape and develop corporate plans, on behalf of the Chief Executive and CLT.
- Support the Corporate Leadership Team with Partnership Meetings including agenda setting.
- Coordinate activity between the Chief Executive’s and Leader’s offices, and to work collaboratively with other parts of the organisation in pursuit of shared objectives.
- Ensure robust governance processes are implemented for all formal decision-making meetings by working collaboratively with Democratic Services and Strategy Teams.
- Develop and deliver an improved and robust briefing process for GMCA meetings ensuring the Chief Executive is aware of all key issues, risks and key messages prior to the meetings.
- Ensure we deliver a professional, organised, and welcoming experience for visitors to the Leadership Team
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to shape and support the development of the organisations priorities and ambitions.
- Project manage events/conferences and visits on behalf of the Chief Executive and / or the Corporate Leadership Team
- Liaise and work collaboratively with internal and external partners and stakeholders including Elected Members and MP’s, to ensure consistency and high-quality outcomes
- Previous experience of managing multiple projects and a diverse workload.
- Must have a proven track record of outstanding operational and change and people management.
- Previous experience in creating a team culture and supporting at an Executive level,
- Extensive experience of shaping and implementing new approaches and processes
- A strong understanding of the implications of working within a political environment.
- Experience of working with a range of stakeholders including customers, partners, trade unions and senior managers to provide key information, effect change and introduce new initiatives.
- Programme/project management skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with a confident presentational style with the ability to quickly develop strong relationships.
- Extensive organisational skills.
- Shaping, developing and embedding a positive and inclusive team culture
- Experience of developing, influencing, coaching and supporting teams and individuals on a day to basis and through change.
- Experience in the development and application of strategies, practices, and interventions.
- Highly effective analytical skills with the ability to quickly establish key issues and the implications for the Council.
- Strong leadership and management skills with well-developed negotiating and influencing skills.
- ICT skills including bespoke databases, spreadsheets, word processing packages
