Recruiting for Hospital Assistant - Oakham Veterinary Hospital (Small Animal)

Full time/flexible working hours across 5 days including 1:4 weekends

The Role

We are recruiting a Hospital Assistant to join our friendly Small Animal team at Oakham Veterinary Hospital, Rutland. Duties are varied and can change daily making this an interesting and rewarding position working with animals and people. The role includes:

  • animal handling & husbandry;
  • Reception duties including call-handling, arranging appointments, taking payments;
  • stocking rooms;
  • cleaning surgical kits and setting up for surgeries;
  • maintaining the cleanliness of client, patient and staff areas.

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, enthusiastic, compassionate, and keen to be part of the whole animal and client care experience. Effective communication and problem-solving skills, in addition to the ability to multi-task and to work both flexibly as part of a team and independently are essential. Some experience of handling animals is preferred, although training will be provided. IT competence is also required.
