Job Title: Personal Assistant to Human Resources Director
Salary: £32,194 to £34,452 plus a Location allowance of £1,721. You will receive £32,194 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £34,452 will be via incremental progression.

Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen in the HR Directors Private Office. The role holder will provide comprehensive, confidential, and professional support service to the Director in all aspects concerned with the efficient and successful operation of the HR Directorate.
The role is ‘front of house’ for HR and often the initial contact point along with other members of the HR Private Office. Across all groups the contact is made face-to-face, through email and telephone. The stakeholders include:
- HR Directors; Director of Human Resources and Deputy Director of Human Resources
- Met Executive including Management Board; daily contact, the purpose of which ranges from coordinating of HR objectives and priorities in support of business group risks/delivery, diary management and event planning. Responding to high-risk queries, complaints and managing expectations
- HR SLT (Senior Leadership Team); daily, enabling delivery of the HR function’s priorities
- Other Private Offices; enabling link up between work/actions across directorates including Director of People and Resources Private Office
- Members of the public; how regularly, responding to queries/complaints on behalf of the Director

What do we expect of you?
Knowledge
- Comprehensive diary management of a busy diary, considering preparation for meetings and personal commitments
- Arranging logistics with internal and external stakeholders, such as booking meeting rooms, travel, visitor passes and escorting visitors
- Creating agendas for meetings and following up on actions and effective tracking of tasks/issues
- Managing databases and filing storage systems of all documentation and papers.
- Undertake research for projects/briefing papers, collating information from a range of sources to produce draft responses
- Provide cover and resilience for the Deputy Directors’ PA and wider HR Private Office
Experience
- Experience providing designated support at a senior stakeholder/Director level
- Experience managing/prioritising workload effectively, to co-ordinate activities and conflicting demands to ensure tight deadlines are met
- Experience using own initiative, be proactive and deal with specific queries as they arise.
- Experience ensuring attention to detail and gathering, analysing, tracking, and collating complex and confidential information
- Experience drafting responses to queries
Skills
- Organisation, diary management and planning skills
- Communication skills, with the ability to work well with range of people at all levels, stakeholder management (internal and external)
- Technology literate skills, with extensive demonstrable experience of Office software packages (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams)
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Time management and prioritisation skills
Desirable Criteria:
- Good understanding of a HR function
- Understanding of Corporate Services functions
- Understanding of the current Met challenges and future direction (see Turnaround Plan)
