Mitsubishi Power Americas in Savannah, Georgia is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the design and support of manufacturing processes while providing support necessary to achieve manufacturing goals set forth by leadership. Manufacturing Engineers in this role are expected to consult regularly with Senior Engineers and Leadership to receive direction and guidance so that job duties are performed in accordance to SMW policy and procedure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the guidance of Senior Engineers design, develop, improve and support manufacturing processes in the Combustion Shop
- Participate in Kaizen activities
- Continuously monitor manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to product specifications/requirements.
- Use CAD software to create solid models and prints to support manufacturing
- Where applicable create, edit and maintain programs for machines and robots.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Contribute to building a positive team spirit.
- Communicate effectively with subordinates and management at all levels.
- Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of 3rd parties.
- Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times.
- Perform other such duties as may be required.

- Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BA) in Engineering or related field from four-year college or university or 5 years related manufacturing experience. Any combination of education or experience that provides skills necessary to satisfy job requirements.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform calculations associated with duties of a Manufacturing Engineer such as, but not limited to, trigonometry, statistical analysis and graphical representation of data.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Computer Skills: advanced personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, drawings, etc.
