Right now Newham residents are exposed to high levels of toxic pollution from vehicles, contributing to the highest death rate in England. We are committed to tackling that and working with residents to create a healthier borough.
To achieve our promises to residents, we need people who are driven and ready to deliver the very best for our communities. We have just completed a comprehensive review of the Highways and Transportation service, leading to the creation of new opportunities. There are a number of roles available and each one will be pivotal to the council delivering a wide range of traffic, parking and environmental schemes from feasibility, design, consultation right up to the implementation stage, service development, key public realm improvement priority schemes, including the design and delivery of planned highway maintenance schemes and Highway Safety Inspections.
We are also delivering a major project along the Royal Docks Corridor (RDC) in the borough and we are seeking experienced staff to help us deliver this exciting project.
We are able to offer working arrangements that will enhance your work/life balance including remote and at home working.
