The Senior Engineer Product Safety will be responsible for evaluating design safety and ensuring potential personnel and environmental hazards are mitigated. Essential Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and support product safety risk assessments for existing (installed base equipment) units.
- Product Safety Engineering's primary mission is to ensure that product safety hazards are mitigated to a safe level throughout the entire product life cycle.
- Drive resolution of safety critical items by documenting investigation details and working together with the management and turbine design teams to ensure completion of actions items.
- Facilitate Containment, Root cause, Corrective / Preventative Action identification and Corrective / Preventative Action Implementation for product safety concerns by working together with cross-functional teams representing Fleet Support Engineering, Design Engineering, Regional Fleet Reliability Operations, EHS, Legal, Supplier Quality, Sourcing, and Chief Engineers Office
- Facilitate cross-functional Safety Program Management Teams to actively drive the execution of the GE Renewable Energy Product Safety process.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Product Safety methods and processes.
- Mentor less experienced product safety engineers to grow organizational capabilities and drive technical pipeline development.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Safety, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited university / college
- Minimum of 5 years of advanced experience in Product Safety or Wind turbine design and/or servicing
- Minimum of 2 year experience in leading safety hazard analysis and driving implementation of mitigation actions that impacted installed base products.

The salary range for this position is $108,600.00 – $181,000.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a 15% variable incentive bonus.
