Senior Colleague Communications and Engagement Manager (12 month FTC)
About the Role:
This highly-visible, crucial Internal Communications leadership position is responsible for the strategic planning, co-ordination and delivery of proactive internal campaigns and CEO events across National Grid plc in the UK and US. Leading a best-in-class Centre of Excellence team and delivering campaigns consummate with the size of the company, you’ll work collaboratively to create engaging strategic corporate internal communications for colleagues in all parts of the business, ensuring consistency of message, while allowing for individual market dynamics.

Key Accountabilities:
Your vast experience in Employee Communications and Engagement will enable you to strategically plan, co-ordinate and deliver proactive internal campaigns (such as Company Values, Company Vision Strategy, Culture Change and Transformation projects), organise CEO events, and fulfil important strategic projects across the business - directing work across geographies, audiences and key senior stakeholder groups. You’ll work closely with external agencies to develop internal communications content; manage tools, processes, working environment and governance; produce timely reporting to keep key stakeholders updated, whilst ensuring all milestones are delivered on time. Your influence will determine decisions on timing, content and style of communications delivered - based on robust MI, reporting and feedback of impact on audience.
About You:
You’re a professional and strategic leader in internal communications, with proven experience of directing and delivering large end-to-end internal campaigns; an unerring focus on stakeholder engagement and management; adept at working intimately with C-Suite; and exceptional writing skills. You’ve organised in-person events for Executive Leadership Teams (strategy, concept and design), and are proficient handling multiple ongoing projects, using appropriate project management methodology. In person, you’re highly organised, credible and influential, yet liberate your own creativity and curiosity. We’re open to seeing applicants from both agency background and in-house. Salary up to £90,000 dependant on experience.

Further Information:
This is a 12-month fixed term contract, covering maternity leave. Start date for the successful applicant must be late September 2023 latest, to accommodate a robust month-long handover.
We offer a hybrid and flexible working approach, a mix of office working from our Strand office (c2-3 days per week) and the rest home working – this role requires flexibility to meet business needs, at key collaboration points across the year office attendance may increase. There will be fairly regular travel to our Warwick office, and possibly the US. We can offer some flexibility in terms of hours / times if required. Our standard working week is 37 hours.
