Citizens Advice Allerdale is recruiting for a position to deliver our project funded energy advice. This is a perfect opportunity for a target-driven, focussed individual with great communication skills, and a passion for alleviating the detrimental effects of fuel poverty on our clients’ lives. Our ideal candidate will have an understanding of the impact of energy issues and previous experience in supporting clients. The work is varied but will include advising on energy grants and energy efficiency measures, as well as issuing fuel vouchers and advice on carbon monoxide.
This role is project-funded, so it is important that you enjoy working to target, allowing you to efficiently support as many clients as possible in this busy area of advice. You will be supervised by your line manager, who will give you feedback to support your learning and development. You will work from our office initially with the possibility of hybrid working after initial training has been completed.
Requirements:
-A good understanding of fuel poverty issues and its impact on clients.
-Experience of working with clients on a one to one basis.
-Experience of working to quality and performance targets within performance management frameworks and specific timeframes.
-Proven ability to deliver workshops and presentations to 10 or more people.
-Recent experience of building and developing community engagement.
-Ability to commit to, and work within, the aims, principles and policies of the Citizens Advice service.
Duties:
-To provide in-depth advice for clients with energy concerns by phone and in person.
-To present energy saving workshops in local community venues and organisations.
-To achieve the agreed project targets.
-Provide energy advice and practical energy saving measures for individual clients with energy concerns
