Citizens Advice Essex, working as consortium lead for the Citizens Advice service in Essex and in partnership with other networks of local Citizens Advice throughout the region has secured major for funding to support a large-scale increase in our capacity, working as a partnership, to support people in fuel poverty – a need that has increased significantly during the new era of rising and unstable domestic energy prices. We are therefore looking to substantially increase the size our teams in this area with an initial increase of up to 12 FTE posts hosted by five of the ten local offices in Essex.
Post holders will join well-established teams, providing reliable and effective quality assured advice for those vulnerable to fuel poverty across principally by telephone, public facing outreach and by home visiting. Roles can be substantively undertaken through the “hybrid” working arrangements available in each office. We may be in a position to consider recruiting a small number of team members who do not live or plan to work in Essex, but from elsewhere in the country, for whom majority home/remote working would be appropriate. Employing local offices may consider applicants as trainees, or as part time staff but may be limited to doing so when applicants wish to be considered for fully remote working.
Every local Citizens Advice is a registered charity. Different application procedures are adopted by individual local Citizens Advice. Contact the relevant one as outlined in the information about this role. You should not send an application form to national Citizens Advice.
All local Citizens Advice produce their own annual report, but you can find out more about the Citizens Advice network or download the latest national Citizens Advice annual report.
