Come and make a difference at Karbon as an Employment Advisor
We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced individual for the role of Employment Advisor in the Foundations for Life Team. Our team provides 1-2-1 bespoke advice and guidance to our customers on their journey into work.
About the role
We are looking to recruit a Part Time (30 hours) Employment Advisor within the Foundations for Life Team working on the L!NKCD Project; supporting customers across the Durham area.
This post is part funded through ESF as part of the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England. ESF funding for the L!NKCD project will end on 31st December 2023.
This role is a permanent role within the structure of the Foundations for Life Team, and therefore upon end of the L!NKCD project; you will continue in the role as part of the core team.
About you
The applicant will play an integral role in proactively supporting our customers to build strong foundations for a successful tenancy through improving their employment prospects and personal resilience.
You will work flexibly, with a customer-centric approach, to guide customers both individually and in group settings to increase their skills, competence and confidence to move them closer, and ultimately into, meaningful and sustainable employment.
You will have a working knowledge of client progression options such as skills and vocational training, work placement, job searching and volunteering, and experience of collaborative partnership working.
You will have a positive and enthusiastic attitude, with a deep understanding of the complex needs of our customers, and the issues they face being out of employment or under-qualified/ skilled. You will have excellent interpersonal skills to build effective and strong relationships with internal and external partners.

- Employment Advisor – permanent role
- Salary is £34,370.27 per annum (pro rata) plus a Karbon car payment of £2152 per annum (pro rata)
- Location: Stanley, Durham
- Regular travel will be required across all of our Karbon geography
- 30 hours per week with some homeworking available/flexible working
