About the role
The Employee Relations and Strategy Manager supports the definition, development and implementation of the corporate industrial and employee strategy to enhance organisational performance and deliver business change
Partnering with key business areas you will define and deliver the industrial strategy and agenda associated with the current and future business plan.
Your Industrial Relations and Employee Engagement experience will enable you to develop meaningful relationships with BA colleagues and Trade Union representatives. As well as leading and supporting consultations and negotiations with the TU, you will develop direct engagement strategies and activities, seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation. You will demonstrate strong leadership skills internally and externally, with a vision and the influence to deliver change.
Key duties
- Manage relationships with key union representatives (internal to BA) and key union officials (external to BA) to successfully deliver IR/ER strategic objectives.
- Work with senior leaders and People BP’s, to deliver the people and change agenda
- Lead IR/ER projects that support the delivery of corporate and local teams’ strategy and achievement of the business plan/strategy.
- Inform and educate senior business leaders on Trade Union developments relevant to BA. CAC, ET/EAT rulings/judgements.
- Manage our industrial agreements ensuring they are documented and recorded appropriately
- Improve current industrial agreements to support business performance
- Co-ordinate local bargaining units’ teams’ ER agendas and chair local Industrial meetings as appropriate
- Advise line management and programme change with IR engagement advice

About you
- Experience of working with trade unions
- Experience of managing conflict appropriately
- Proven experience in delivering and managing change
- Meaningful negotiations/Dispute resolution
- Proven ability to deliver complex projects and quantifiable change against an agreed set of measures within IR sensitive environments
