Role Summary
We are looking for a Health Coach to support, develop and deliver the Metropolitan Police Service Wellbeing Service outreach programme. A particular focus of the role is to work with employees to improve their knowledge of and confidence in a range of wellbeing programmes, the support available to them and supporting them in embedding behaviour and lifestyle changes.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Provide advice on health and wellbeing, and behaviour change programmes to enhance the health of the workforce.
- Carry out health screening tests in accordance with Optima policies and protocols and those of the client.
- Deliver coaching interventions to drive positive behaviour change.
- Identify opportunities to provide proactive advice on Health & Wellbeing.
- Support the delivery of a comprehensive communication, engagement and promotion plan to create awareness and opportunities for employees to manage their health.
- Delivery of wellbeing activities in alignment with centrally governed Optima Health policies, standards and procedures.
- Contribute to the health & wellbeing strategy for the client.
- Improving awareness of key OH services with client.
- Dispose of all waste - clinical and sharps - in accordance with Optima policies and procedures.
- Maintain suitable data to be able to report appropriate management information and where possible identify trends to enhance the health of the workforce.
- Travel across London is required.
Experience, skills and knowledge required for the role
- Diploma / Degree in a health-related subject e.g., medical /sports science /nutritional science.
- Extensive experience of health screening / consultation.
- Experience in delivering 1-2-1 coaching interventions to promote positive behaviour change.
- Experience in delivering health promotion events and undertaking engaging presentations to small group.
- Excellent communication skills, assessment, listening, written and verbal.
- Knowledge of clinical governance structures.
- Able to retain personal responsibility whilst working in a wider team.
- Subject matter expert in aspects of positive lifestyle behaviours e.g. nutrition, exercise, sleep.
- MS Office proficiency; particularly in MS Powerpoint for developing presentations.
- Competence in research skills.
