Job description
Reporting to the MD, Global People Operations, the EMEA People Operations Leader partners with all areas of Edelman to help us execute our overall People Strategy to develop, engage, reward and attract.
Work to bring the vision of People Operations to the region, including partnering with the MD, People Operations Leader on the design of the function.- Oversee EMEA People Operations, including oversight of the day-to-day People Operations processes, such as onboarding and offboarding, data and payroll processing, and other work at the base core of the function.
- Review work and processes of the local team and partner with People Operations teams across the globe to ensure global consistency and uniformity in tools and processes.
- Directly supervise People Operations staff, and partner closely with Global Shared Operations, People Partner Leadership and COE Leadership.
- Provide strategic direction, senior counsel and career development guidance to staff; succession plan for future states.
- Serve as senior liaison between various People Team and infrastructure stakeholders to ensure proper and holistic implementation of solutions.
- Identify and drive the sharing of best practices to facilitate continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
People Support: Level 0 Support:
- Work with Global Shared Operations to drive implementation and regional use of a consumer-grade, employee-facing People Portal with direct access, effectively reducing level 1 and 2 questions
- Provide oversight of People Portal content for the region
- Communicate and train People Team and employees on Portal use
- Ensure training and communications provide proactive direction for direct access answers, reducing employee questions and needs
Level 1 Support:
- Working with Regional People Team and MD, Global People Operations, identify a lead for People Support for the region and build out Level 1 Support Team
- Oversee People Support case management strategy, process, communications and team
- Design and implement procedures for level 1 questions, including remit and where collaboration is necessary (People Partners, COEs, Benefits, Employee Relations, etc.)
- Lead Service Now implementation for the region and monitor and proactively act on metrics for effective response rate and satisfaction
Onboarding/Offboarding:
- Working with the MD, Global People Operations, implement a first-class employee experience in executing on common global onboarding and offboarding practices in the EMEA region as well as ensuring compliance with all local laws and requirements in local markets.
- Post implementation, ensure that we continue to meet local requirements while elevating the employee experience both when they join and depart Edelman.
- Continuously seek to implement best practices and evolve our efforts to support starters and leavers.
Payroll, Systems Operations and Data Management:
- Working with Global People Systems Operations, ensure all standard operating procedures are followed on data entry, drive audit management, uplevel questions or issues, and drive compliance with local laws and requirements in local markets
- Working with Global Data Management, ensuring execution of global reporting goals.
EMEA and Global Integration:
- Serve as a member of the EMEA People Leadership team, serving as a conduit between the EMEA PLT and the Global People Operations team ensuring alignment and ability to drive our collective goals forward.
- As a senior member of the Edelman People Operations Team, inform global policies and processes; use knowledge of best practice to inform improvements to global processes and implement those locally
- Maintain expertise of all current People processes, as well as an understanding of what can be standardized in EMEA and globally; identify processes that can and cannot be provided via People Operations to ensure consistent operations and employee experience.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with People Team constituents and customer base; serve as an interface between EMEA and global, as well as internal and external customers and functional team members to ensure effective definition of and delivery of applications and programming.
- Promote proactive approaches using the company's HRIS to solve business needs/problems, while also enhancing the understanding and acceptance of the HRIS capabilities.
Regional People Operations / Project-Related
- People Operations needs on a regional level that will need to be managed / coordinated by the EMEA People Operations leader.
- Aligned with the EMEA Chief People Officer and Global People Operations leader, the EMEA People Operations leader will assume responsibility and align resources accordingly to execute against these needs.
Qualifications:
- Experience in innovative People operations; Preferable experience in other People or business functions
- Thorough understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures
- Highly operationally/process-minded; an efficient problem-solver, experienced in defining processes and bringing automation/technology to bear on creating more efficiency
- Global mindset – ability to connect dots from regional/local problems or questions with a global mindset
- Strong analytical capabilities and a data-driven approach; Data- and systems-minded; able to use data to solve problems and an intricate understanding of our systems
- Influential, especially in situations that require diplomacy and tact
- Demonstrated relationships with stakeholders (People Partners, IT, Finance, etc.) and collaborative in cross-functional partnerships in order to work effectively with peers and partners throughout the whole organization
- The capacity to transform, align and inspire a team; success in building, aligning and motivating their team to perform at their highest levels
