Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, model and other risks.
Background on the Position
The role will reside within Firm Risk Management's Risk Capital function. The Capital function is responsible for developing and maintaining a regulatory capital framework, assessing, reporting and managing advanced capital, advising on the capital impact to the business and senior management, as well as leading the Division's contribution to enterprise-wide programs related to risk-based capital. The function is also responsible for a wide variety of capital-related projects and initiatives, specifically the ICAAP/ICARA and the Firm Resolution & Recovery Planning.

Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting strategic and ad-hoc regulatory projects and requirements, develop new process/methodologies and enhance existing processes where needed including ICAAP, ICARA, RRP and etc.
- Contribute to EMEA legal entity capital regulation compliance workstreams including new capital rule change assessment/implementation and regular compliance self-assessment
- Work closely with Risk Analytics teams and manage capital forecast from credit/counterparty risk perspective.
- Support on large trade approval and new product approval process
- Support firm capital optimisation projects
- Creating concise and effective presentations for senior management on project updates and regulator-ready materials
- Support the delivery of clear, concise and precise responses to information requests from home and host regulatory authorities
- Work with and develop effective and constructive working relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience in related roles in a similarly complex Sales and Trading institution
- Credit risk and Counterparty risk management and/or Credit Risk Capital experience
- The ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbally
- An interest in working in a fast-paced environment, often balancing multiple high priority deliverables
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to provide information in usable formats (proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
- The ability to work independently in a self-directed way in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Confidence to take ideas forward and to challenge others, where appropriate, with experience in management by influence, facilitating and gaining consensus
