EMEA Financial Controllers

As part of Wells Fargo's global Finance function, the EMEA Financial Controller team is responsible for legal entity aligned regulatory, financial, and management reporting requirements in the region.

As well as forming a key part of the International Controllers organization, the team provides local support for varied financial services business lines as well as the International CFO.

During the graduate program, you rotate across the function's core activities, specifically:
  • Regulatory Controllers - preparation and submission of financial reports to regulatory authorities. As part of this experience, you will learn about regulatory rules, obtaining and preparing financial information through defined processes, as well as participating in review, sign off, and governance processes supporting accurate reporting.
  • Legal Entity Controllers - preparation of legal entity aligned financial results. You will spend time learning about the processes by which financial results are created in the firm's books and records, as well as being given an insight into the business activity generating the results.
  • Change Management - data, infrastructure, and process enhancements support core reporting activity. You will participate in change/project management activity (design, development, testing), as well as gaining insight into and supporting the function's effort to use digital tools to automate and streamline reporting processes.
Required
  • Final year of university with an expected graduation date of no later than June 2024
  • Demonstratable interest in finance through work experience or extra-curricular achievement
  • A record of academic excellence
  • Have the relevant right to work in the UK or EEA
Desired
  • A personality that is engaging, flexible, organised, conscientious, initiative-taking, & detail-oriented
  • An ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines & achieve goals, all whilst working in a dynamic & complex environment
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Familiar with digital tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI or have experience of coding (e.g. Python)
  • Familiar with core accounting concepts such as double entry, GAAP
