In partnership with senior management, the Business Management team helps drive business strategy and priorities, manage business risks, address regulatory and control initiatives, optimize business performance and co-ordinate other business development initiatives. The team is located on the trading floor, and works directly with traders, marketers, business heads, and all support/risk functions (credit, market risk, operations, technology, legal, compliance, finance, etc.)
The Commodities Business Management team is seeking a motivated VP level candidate to join the London-based team. Your responsibilities will vary depending on current needs, but will include support for the Global Metals and EMEA Commodities businesses, in addition to various projects and initiatives that apply across the global Commodities platform.
Together with the Business Heads, you will develop business strategies and execute initiatives as needed;
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead new business initiatives.
- Actively manage and support business development and structured deal pipeline, including coordinating required due diligence and related return analysis;
- Coordinate implementation of regulatory and control-related projects;
- Develop the annual budget, including revenue, expense, and capital planning; and
- Optimize bottom-line business performance and improve various business processes by driving key initiatives.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Self-starter, strong communicator, ability to lead meetings
- Strong desire to learn, and high level of energy & enthusiasm
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and challenging deadlines; good project management skills
- Thoughtful analytical skills; able to develop, clearly present and draw conclusions
- Ability to effectively partner with and influence a broad range of groups
- Technical analysis skills and data manipulation - MS Office Products
- Finance technical skills - P&L, RWA, Balance Sheet and Return metrics
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Prior experience in a business management role preferred
- Knowledge of commodities products preferred
