We are looking for Embroidery Machine Operator and Print Design Assistant.
The company The Direct Co Group are Schoolwear and Workwear suppliers. We have a dedicated Print & Embroidery studio. This consists of:
7 Single Head Amaya Embroidery Machines
DTG (Direct To Garment) Print Machine
Heat Transfer and Heat Press Machinery
Vinyl Cutting Machine
We mainly specialise in schoolwear, but we have been growing our workwear and promotional wear side of the business. We are the source for many local small businesses as well as film production companies to help with bespoke garments - with extremely quick turnaround times.
During the Summer (our peak season) we dedicate 95% of our production to Schoolwear to help our retail arm of the business. Our Peak season is very busy and does mean longer hours and you should be prepared for this.
There are 3 members of the Embroidery Team
You will be assisting the existing Embroidery Senior Team, with:
Embroidery & Print Management:
- Learning & Studying the complete process of ALL parts of the Embroidery and Print Studio Area.
- Making Sure Production will be finished in time
This includes the following:
- Equipment Maintenance
- Cleaning of machinery and workspaces
- Assisting with all aspects of embroidery
- Picking and preparation of items
- Target hitting for production times
- Ensuring the maximum efficiency is being utilised in the embroidery process.
Design Production Assistant:
- Responsible for using our production equipment including and not limited to: DTG, Heatpress
- Vinyl Cutting Machine.
- Using the equipment to produce the company requirements
Tailor/Seamster/Seamstress
- If you have any experience in this. We usually require some minor tailoring and label changing etc.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has had experience with some of the above.
Hours and Pay
Depending on Age and Experience:
- £9.00 - £10.65 Per Hour *Starting Basic*
- Pay review within 3-6 months.
- Paid for your every minute you work (no unaccounted over time)
- 12.07% Holiday Accrual (Uncapped)
- Health Care Package (After 6 Months)
Hours:
Approximately 30-38 Hours a week currently, during our peak season (July-Sept) This will go to around 38-40 hours a week. With a heavy focus for 3 weeks during our Super Peak Season (Which will be 40+ Hours - for 3 weeks)
There will be occasional weekend work (split between you and your colleagues)
We operate :
Monday - Friday (9am - 6.30pm)
Saturday (11am - 5pm)
Sunday (12 - 4pm)
Though you will not be expected to work all the hours we are open - the above lets you know the schedules of when we are open.
