LEGACY MANAGEMENT EXECUTIVE
Salary: £26,500 - £30,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time 35 hours per week

We are looking for a Legacy Management Executive to administer fixed sum legacies and manage relationships with professionals and lay executors, friends, and family. This is a vital part of Cancer Research UK’s Legacy Giving strategy which raises 1/3 of the funding for our life saving research. This is a high-volume case management administrative role which requires superb attention to detail and organisational skills.
You may have experience as a paralegal, legal administrator or case administrator and are looking a flexible home-based role supporting a cause you care about. Or you might be a highly organised and detail orientated person looking to gain experience of Legacy Giving or fundraising more generally and this would be your opportunity to develop transferrable skills and work towards ILM’s Certificate in Legacy Administration (CiCLA).
What will I be doing?
  • Develop the skills to administer fixed sum legacies and steward relationships with professionals and lay executors, friends, and family
  • Act as the first point of contact working with professional and lay executors to administer fixed-sum legacies in a professional and approachable manner
  • Build and manage effective relationships by engaging the audience involved in administering the estate, sharing with them the work of Cancer Research UK and the impact of legacy giving and extending these relationships where appropriate and under guidance.
  • Engaging with the family and friends of the supporter
  • Support the Legacy strategy
  • Provide general administrative support to the wider Product Team where necessary
Professional
  • Engage with professional audiences in their end-to-end Legacy supporter journey, through stewardship and engagement opportunities, supporting the Legacy Partnership Managers and Legacy Professional Team Leaders
  • Support the Legacy Partnership Managers implement the Legacy Strategy for engagement
Friends and Family
  • Cultivating relationships with lay executors, friends, and family, including a tailored thanking experience
  • Work with Supporter Led Fundraising Engagement and Operations to promote legacy giving to the public
What skills are you looking for?
  • Experience of working in an administrative role in a fast-paced environment as part of a high-performing team
  • Excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively to different audiences, including recently bereaved members of the public
  • Confident and competent communication skills both written and verbal
  • A strong team player who is able to work flexibly to support colleagues and/or other teams
  • Attention to detail/data accuracy at all times
  • Experience working with databases and Microsoft Office (or similar)
  • Proactive and solution focussed
  • Welcomes and gives positive and constructive feedback to improve performance
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about the work of Cancer Research UK
  • Be willing to travel around the UK every couple of months
