The Power and Signal Conversion business group within Nexperia is seeking an experienced Silicon Validation & Characterization Engineer with a strong background in analog and mixed signal IC validation and characterization. The SV engineer will be responsible for the evaluation and characterization of development-stage silicon, ensuring the part will meet all stated specifications and behavior. Familiarity with power converters and the challenges of power design is a plus. This position requires strong communication skills and leadership qualities. The selected individual will assume a senior technical contributor role with the ability to identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and work collaboratively with a diverse team.

This organization provides an opportunity to work on cutting edge products in Power and Power Management including DC/DC and AC/DC converters, high voltage isolation, battery chargers, linear regulators, nano-power products, PMICs, display power products and more.
Responsibilities Include
- Lead the bench characterization of silicon ICs during the product development
- Create and automate bench setup to streamline characterization and validation
- Help to continually develop the framework upon which all products will be characterized and validated
- Understand the product specification and chip architecture and how it behaves
- Develop a detailed post-Si characterization plan and work closely with design, systems and test teams to execute it
- Perform system level and parametric tests on the bench with a strong ‘break-the-part’ mentality
- Debug device and setup related issues and drive the issue to closure independently
- Interface across different functional groups such as design, design verification, systems, applications, test, etc. to ensure product was characterized correctly and completely and that end product fits customer’s needs
- Build relationships with internal team by closely interacting with them to identify and solve product related problems
Required Qualifications
- Strong familiarity with Labview and Teststand development tools
- Strong working knowledge of laboratory bench equiptment and automated bench setups
- Extensive experience in design and layout of PCB hardware
- Experience with statistical analysis tools such as Spotfire
- A strong background in analog design and power electronics is a plus
- Experience using FPGA’s to validate digital modules and firmware is a plus
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study
