Electronics Development Intern (Summer 2023)

3-4 month internship, with flexibility around dates

Stockport Based – Onsite

Summary:

The Electronics Hardware intern will work on projects that enable Laser Quantum’s manufacturing and engineering departments to make better decisions, improve quality and productivity. Working within the electronics development team to test and progress hardware designs. Electronics development at Laser Quantum covers a broad range of disciplines including schematic entry, PCB layout, Spice modelling, component selection, embedded firmware and more!

Primary Responsibilities:

Working with the Electronics Development team to progress existing projects and conduct feasibility studies of proposed projects, documenting as required.
Maintenance of existing firmware including bug fixes and feature enhancements.
Testing of firmware and hardware features, generating constructive feedback to root cause issues and remedy these.

Skills and Experience:

Student working toward Bachelor degree in Electronics/Embedded Engineering or related discipline.
Electronics sub-circuit design.
Knowledge of common lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, etc
Spice simulation.
Strong communication skills to be able to collaborate and explain findings clearly.
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
