About the role
Are you an electrical Qualifying Supervisor (or equivalent)? Do you have experience of managing projects across multiple sites with a high volume of tasks? Do you have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate and influence both colleagues and customers? Do you have a strong customer focus to deliver projects to time and budget? Do you have experience of contractor management and and performance monitoring?
You will be working alongside 6 other project managers as part of the Repairs and Maintenance Service. You will be responsible for delivering the electrical testing and upgrade programme in Housing properties across the city. You will have excellent customer service skills and an understanding of the needs of our diverse staff and customers and be able to tailor delivery accordingly while satisfying all safety, quality, compliance and cost control standards.
You will play a key role in programme production and management for the testing, reporting and upgrading of communal and domestic installations throughout the Brighton and Hove Housing stock. You will need to proactively drive compliance to achieve a 5 year testing programme and motivate the teams to achieve targets and deadlines to realise these goals.
Delivering these projects requires resilience and determination and our focus on customer service makes this work rewarding as we are able to deliver housing improvements to residents across our city.

- A standard working week of 37 hours per week plus 5.5 hours of contracted overtime (Monday – Friday 08.00 – 17.00). Part-time hours are also available.

Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is term-time only. For part time applicants, where your working week is less than the council’s basic 37 hour week, contracted overtime rated pay will not form part of your working hours. This is because overtime rated pay is payable for hours worked in excess of the council’s basic 37 hour week. Your starting salary will be pro rata based on the basic annual salary elements of pay between £43,516 & £46,549.
