About The Role

We are looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Technician to join our water production team at Reading Fobney WTWs, As the successful candidate your role will be covering all aspects of engineering from mechanical and maintenance to complex electrical diagnostic work, this is to ensure that all equipment at our water treatment works is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods.

This role will be working in a multi-disciplinary team, alongside a range of operational teams such as water networks, ICA and water quality.

What we are looking for:

  • ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G level 3 in Electrical engineering
  • Having previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, with an 18th Edition qualification is essential
  • Physically fit as you will work in confined spaces with successful completion of the appropriate training
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are crucial
  • A valid driving license is essential
  • Be a time served apprentice with significant experience of electrical systems ideally working in a “true multi-skilled” capacity

  • Proactive – take the lead on recommendations and improvements around site and communicate effectively.
  • Take Care of yourself and others, we have a zero-compromise approach to Health and Safety at Thames Water, and it is critical that all of our employees go home safe and well at the end of each day.
  • Be honest and reliable; Our technicians work on their own and in small teams, so we rely on them to manage their own time efficiently and effectively
