Job Description: Graduate Electrical Engineer (Solar PV Design)
Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated Graduate Electrical Engineer with solar PV experience to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing and modelling solar PV systems using software such as PV Sol, CAD, and PVSYST. In addition to PV design, this position also involves energy data modelling, financial modelling, technical and proposal administration. You will report directly to the Board of Directors and collaborate with various teams to ensure the successful implementation of solar PV projects.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize PV Sol, CAD, PVSYST, and other design software to create accurate and efficient solar PV system designs, considering technical specifications, electrical layouts, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform energy data modelling and analysis to optimize system performance and ensure efficient energy generation.
- Conduct financial modelling and feasibility studies for solar PV projects, assessing their viability and potential return on investment.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop technical proposals for potential clients, providing technical expertise, cost estimates, and utilizing Microsoft Office products for documentation.
- Assist in project management activities, including procurement, scheduling, and coordinating with external stakeholders such as contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements in the solar PV sector to ensure the company remains at the forefront of renewable energy solutions.
- Support the Board of Directors by providing regular reports, presenting findings, and participating in strategic discussions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a focus on renewable energy or solar PV systems.
- Previous experience or strong knowledge of solar PV design, including the use of software such as PV Sol, CAD, and PVSYST.
- Proficient in energy and financial modelling, with the ability to assess project feasibility and financial viability.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations related to solar PV systems in the UK.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyse complex data.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products for documentation, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while also being a collaborative team player.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Knowledge of proposal writing and technical administration is desirable.
