Overview
In this Apprentice position, the Finance Graduate Trainee, under the guidance of their line manager/more senior member(s) of staff, will provide a high quality, comprehensive financial service to the Team's customers in all matters of finance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Functional
In accordance with your line manager you will provide financial support to the team, including but not limited to:
- Prepare accurate and prudent multi-year estimates to meet the Group budget timetable.
- Ensure that year end performance is reported accurately and within an agree timetable to meet Group and statutory deadlines
- Assistance with monthly management accounts processes
- Monthly reconciliations
- Daily/weekly banking uploads / postings
- Daily billing reporting
- Administering post, scanning and emailing
- Reporting on partnerships billing
- Issuing Stripe invoices
- Management of corporate credit cards (reminders / supporting evidence / filing statements)
- Ensure that Netsuite, the finance system, is amended to reflect adjustments requested and appropriately approved, raising any concerns with your line manager or a more senior member of the team
Corporate
- Support the deployment and best use of technology to provide effective and automated workflow processes, thereby reducing the reliance on existing legacy systems, including dependency on spreadsheets
- Coach and assist individual employees to meet their goals and objectives through the monitoring, periodic reviews, annual appraisal, training and development processes
- To work with other CHAS staff to achieve the Company and Group’s strategic objectives and business plans including compliance with statutory responsibilities, Corporate and Government policies
- To take full responsibility for the development and implementation of your own Personal Development Plan, and your own continued development in those areas relevant to your role within CHAS
Knowledge and experience
- Knowledge and understanding of finance, accounting or VAT principles
- Ability to communicate effectively (e.g. to communicate technical issues to lay persons clearly and concisely), and ensure that all communications are timely, accurate and to a high standard.
- An ability to plan and organise your time whilst meeting conflicting deadlines.
- Good use of Excel and Word
- Numerate and comfortable with numbers and data analysis
- Ability to provide a high quality financial analysis using NetSuite and Excel
- Graduate with relevant degree / conversion course / studying AAT Level 1 or accountancy / audit experience
- Experience of undertaking basic accounting tasks, including processing transactions, investigating discrepancies, extracting information and conducting reconciliations
- Competent user of Microsoft Office programs

Salary: £28,000.00 per year
