The role
We are currently seeking hardworking, resourceful candidates to join our dynamic team as an Electrical Installation Engineer.
A key activity for this role will be to survey, install, commission and support site based control systems and equipment for one of our key clients. Predominantly electrical biased but there will be some elements of PLC programming (training provided). You could be working alone but other times you could be with another engineer or as part of a team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring work is completed to the highest standard within agreed deadlines.
Whilst the majority of the work will be within standard working hours this operational role requires you to be flexible and will involve extensive travel to sites (approx. max of 3 hours away). Some time away from home is to be expected but it is not planned to exceed 20% of the working week. Hotels will be provided for any commute times over 1.5 hours.
Duties include:
- Design, develop, install and maintain electrical control systems and components to specification
- Reading design specifications and technical drawings
- Aiding in the production of detailed functional design specifications (FDS)
- Chance to learn the production, modification, testing and commissioning of SCADA & PLC software
- Occasional UK Site commissioning (which may involve short periods away from home)
You will need:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years practical experience and ideally a solid understanding of electrical diagrams for control panel wiring or electrical installation.
The role requires a self-motivated, practical problem solver with good communication skills.
Required Skills / Experience
- Electrical degree, electrical technical qualification NVQ or equivalent
- 18th Edition wiring Regulations City & Guilds 2382, highly beneficial
- AM2 Certificate of Practical Competence
- Good verbal and written communication
- Previous industrial electrical installation experience ( 2 years+)
- UK Driving License
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
Desirable Skills (training may be provided where appropriate)
- Panel design and electrical design experience (using CAD or ePLAN)
- Electrical Inspection and testing certification
- JIB ECS Gold card / Managers Black card
- Confined space trained / working at height trained
- Experience of PLC programming of at least one of - Rockwell / Siemens / Mitsubishi PLCs

Full time position – Hours 08:30 – 17:15 – Monday to Thursday and 08:30 – 16:00 on Fridays.
