Job description

The Bright School of English requires an EFL Teacher for our busy Bournemouth Town Centre School. This is a permanent part time role. The hours will be set at a minimum of 15 hours a week, Monday to Friday, hours: 8.50am to 12pm (Afternoon teaching hours also available if required)

We require evidence of teaching experience, with a certificate in ELT/TESOL. The teacher will normally have a CELTA or Trinity qualification, but the school is very happy to employ DELTA qualified teachers.

As a teacher you will be provided with full support, including guidelines, teacher’s handbook and a wide variety of teaching materials. They are responsible for the planning and teaching of effective EFL classes and related administrative tasks. A range of supplementary resources are provided. There may be the opportunity of overtime at the director’s discretion.

A key strength of the Bright School of English is that students are welcome to approach teachers at anytime with questions and queries.

The majority of students are over the age of 18. But teachers will be expected to teacher 16/17 year old students, and will be expected to pass an Enhanced DBS check. For permanent staff the school will arrange this check, for temporary staff we expect a valid certificate within 1 year. Safeguarding training will be provided to all staff members. Summary:

CELTA or equivalent is essential
Degree in any discipline is preferred
1 years' or more experience of teaching in an EFL setting is preferred
Experience teaching young learners is preferred
Proof of right to work in the UK is required
Any gaps in employment must be satisfactorily explained
2 written references are required - referees will be specifically asked about the candidate's suitability to work with under-18s
An Enhanced Disclosure check is required

Normal hours of work:

Your normal hours of work are to be agreed in advance and will vary, set over times of between 8.30am to 4pm. Hours and shifts to be agreed weekly.

Part-time hours: 15 - 27 per week

Salary: £15.00-£18.00 per hour
